Space City AO at No Kings 3

Anti-Authoritarian Bloc at No Kings 3

On March 28th, 2026, members participated in an Anti-Authoritarian Bloc at the No Kings 3 protest outside Houston City Hall. In preparation members equipped themselves with Black Bloc and a plethora of literature to distribute. Despite being confronted by liberals a handful of times we were able to hand out almost 500 zines at the protest. On top of this and in spite of a communication mishap on our part, we were able to give a brief speech in which we called for direct action against ICE in Houston and for solidarity with the Prairieland defendants. (See the transcript of the full speech on the last page).

The March

During the march, we managed to overpower some of the lamer, more liberal sounding 50501 chants with more explicitly radical/anti cop ones, and a lot of people in the crowd liked the direction. after a while one of their groups caught up with us and drowned us out too. solution? more megaphones. A chant list was helpful, but we had to stick to the simpler ones so people could hear and understand us. We pissed off a liberal old man when we insulted the cops with our chants, and a small group in front of us argued with him until he left. This girl was vibing with us so much that she took a turn with the megaphone & chant list.

Other Takeaways

There was a significant HPD police presence outside and around City Hall that coincided with a turnout that allegedly more than eclipsed the turnout at NK2. We observed a police helicopter overhead as well as what appeared to be SWAT on the roof of city hall which was to be expected. Notably however, there was significantly less cop attention on us. We weren’t followed, unless this one cop got suspicious of our zine group and played it off like he was making the rounds. hard to say. We also received a rumor that DHS was taking pictures of people at the protest, but this information was unvetted and unconfirmed (and we made an effort to do so). Otherwise they left us alone. there were some outliers that felt more confident talking shit to the small group of us in line for the bathroom, but we had some good conversations with liberals and made a socialist start considering anarchism!
